Disclaimers, attribution and privacy

Maps, charts, spot positions, tide and current predictions and forecasts on this site are for planning only. They are not a substitute for official nautical charts, the official National Weather Service forecast, or your own judgment on the water. Positions are approximate. Always carry the required safety equipment, file a float plan, and monitor VHF channel 16.

Regulations

Size limits, bag limits, seasons, gear rules and licence requirements shown on this site are transcribed from the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC), NOAA Fisheries, the Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary and Everglades National Park, and each record shows its source and the date it was last checked. Regulations change, sometimes with little notice. You are responsible for knowing the current rules: verify at MyFWC.com and NOAA Fisheries before you fish.

Bite scores and outlooks

Scores are produced by a fixed, documented formula from forecast and tide data. They are guidance about conditions, not a prediction of what you will catch. Fish do what they want.

Data attribution

• Tide and tidal current predictions, water temperature: NOAA CO-OPS (US Government, public domain).
• Weather forecasts, marine zone forecasts, alerts and observations: National Weather Service, Key West (public domain).
• Hourly weather, wave, swell, sea-surface temperature and ocean current models: Open-Meteo, data licensed CC BY 4.0.
• Sanctuary zone boundaries: 15 CFR 922 via the eCFR; regulations: FWC, Florida Keys National Marine Sanctuary, Everglades National Park.
• Map tiles and geocoding: Google Maps Platform, subject to Google's terms. Optional nautical chart overlay: NOAA.
• Typefaces: Fraunces and Geist, SIL Open Font License.
• Sun and moon calculations follow Jean Meeus, Astronomical Algorithms.

Privacy

This site stores your display preferences (units, theme, how you fish, your experience level) and a short-lived copy of the conditions data in your own browser, so pages load fast. Nothing in that storage identifies you and none of it is sent to us.

If you send a charter enquiry, we store what you type (name, contact details, dates, message) so we can reply, and we email it to ourselves. We do not sell or share it. Ask us to delete it at any time using the contact details below.

If analytics are enabled, we use Google Analytics 4 with IP anonymisation to understand which pages are useful. The spots map is served by Google Maps, which sets its own cookies under Google's privacy policy. Using the "near me" feature on the map asks your browser for your location; it is used only to sort spots and is never sent to us.
